Published on March 9, 2025

NASA’s Perseverance rover successfully landed on Mars, marking a major milestone in the search for ancient life on the Red Planet. After a seven-month journey covering nearly 300 million miles, the rover touched down in Jezero Crater, an area believed to have once contained a lake and river delta. The mission aims to explore the planet’s geology, search for signs of microbial life, and test new technologies for future human exploration. The rover is also equipped with the Ingenuity helicopter, the first aircraft to attempt powered flight on another planet.
